Summer House/Office

Bespoke Summer Houses & Garden Offices: Beyond the Spare Room

Let’s be honestβ€”trying to run a business or find a moment of peace from the kitchen table just doesn’t work. A garden office or a bespoke summer house is no longer a luxury; for many, it has become a professional necessity. But we aren’t talking about those flimsy “log cabins” you see in a catalogue that feel like a shed and smell like damp wood after one winter. At Easy Building Ltd, we build garden rooms that are structurally identical to a high-end house extension. We focus on thermal mass, proper vapour barriers, and foundations that keep the structure rock-solid and bone-dry all year round.

We don't build sheds; we engineer year-round habitable spaces that are as warm, secure, and technologically equipped as any room in your main house.

Working from home should feel like an upgrade, not a compromise. Our garden offices are designed with high-performance insulation and professional-grade electrical layouts, ensuring your Zoom calls never drop and you stay warm in February without a noisy space heater. Whether you want a minimalist studio finished in microcement or a traditional timber summer house that blends into your landscaping, we handle everything from the initial ground clearance to the final Ethernet port installation. It is about creating a clear boundary between your work life and your home life, located just a few steps across the lawn.

Our Garden Room Standards

Is a garden office warm enough to use in the middle of winter?

Absolutely. We use high-specification PIR insulation in the floors, walls, and roof, coupled with double or triple glazing. Because we build these to the same thermal standards as a modern house, they are incredibly easy to heat. Most of our clients find that a single small radiator or underfloor heating loop is more than enough to keep the space cosy even in freezing temperatures.

Yes, for safety and performance, we typically run a dedicated armoured cable from your main consumer unit to a smaller distribution board inside the garden room. This ensures that your office equipment, heating, and lighting have a stable, independent power supply. As we have in-house electricians, this is all part of our standard turnkey service.

Once the foundations are set, the main structure usually goes up quite quickly. A bespoke garden office typically takes between 3 to 5 weeks from the first spade in the ground to the final coat of paint. Because we pre-plan the technical elements like plumbing or bespoke furniture, we minimize the “messy” time in your garden and get you into your new workspace as fast as possible.
